PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently transporting a protein into the endoplasmic reticulum without depending on the physical properties of the protein to be transported, and to provide a polypeptide, a gene and an expression vector to be used in the method.SOLUTION: The invention provides a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence of the following (a) or (b) and having an activity of transport signal peptide to the endoplasmic reticulum, where the sequence represented by (a) or (b) may have deletion, substitution or addition of 1-10 amino acids.
