PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for oxidizing an sp³C-H bond, which enables high selectivity and a high catalyst turnover number.;SOLUTION: In the method for oxidizing an sp³C-H bond, an sp³C-H bond is oxidized in the coexistence of a carboxylic acid, using a metal complex catalyst represented by the specified general formula (1) as an oxidation catalyst.
