PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which enables acceleration of the stabilization rate in stabilizing coal, especially low-quality coal.;SOLUTION: A coal stabilization method includes a coal charge step of charging a to-be-treated object 50 (coal) into a treatment container 1 and an aging step of supplying an oxygen-containing gas from a blower 2 into the treatment container 1 charged with the object 50 to bring the object 50 into direct contact with the gas so as to oxidize the object 50 partially. In the aging step of the coal stabilization method, the oxygen concentration of the gas to be supplied into the treatment container 1, e.g. is adjusted so that the temperature of the object 50 in the treatment container 1 does not exceed 80°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
