PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method capable of detecting lung small cell carcinoma of poor prognosis, a means of treating lung small cell carcinoma of poor prognosis, and a method of screening a medicine for treating lung small cell carcinoma of poor prognosis.SOLUTION: A lincRNA, HOTAIR (its cDNA has a base sequence expressed by a specified sequence) has been found to be highly expressed in lung small cell carcinoma of poor prognosis. Provided is a diagnostic method for determining whether lung small cell carcinoma of concern is lung small cell carcinoma of poor prognosis or not, in which, as the expression quantity of HOTAIR as lincRNA is higher, it is determined to be more likely that it is of poor prognosis. Further, provided is siRNA which can suppress the multiplication of lung small cell carcinoma in which HOTAIR is highly expressed.
