PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll for melt extrusion shaped forming capable of achieving a sufficient improvement of transferability as well as having a very good surface condition.SOLUTION: A roll 1 for melt extrusion shaped forming which is used in the melt extrusion forming of thermoplastic resin includes a roll body portion 10 inside of which is provided with a heat transfer medium flow channel 11, an amorphous metal coating layer 13 that covers the surface of the roll body portion 10, and a plated layer 14 that covers the amorphous metal coating layer 13. The roll body portion 10 is made of a metallic material having a thermal conductivity of 40 W/m K or more and 100 W/m K or less, and the coating layer 13 is made of an amorphous metal having a thermal conductivity of 10 W/m K or less. On the plated layer 14 provided on top of the coating layer 13, there is formed an optical pattern with minimal defects.
