PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication device and apparatus capable of decoding a plurality of audio formats in playback with an audio output device without the need to transcode digitized audio and without the need to have a plurality of audio decoders in the audio output device.;SOLUTION: A communication system 100 includes a wireless headset 102 communicating with a music player 104 and a wireless communication device 108 over wireless links 110. A wireless communications network 106 communicates with a codec server 112 over a network. The codec server 112 stores audio codec software of a decoder execution file 114, and provides it to the wireless communication device 108 through the wireless network 106.
