PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method of bacterial floras by understanding metabolic pathways of nitrogenous compounds by ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) in bacterial floras, such as sludge and soil.SOLUTION: An evaluation method of the bacterial flora according to the invention comprises a first process of supplying ammonia and oxygen to a bacterial flora, a second process of supplying nitrous acid labeled withN to the bacterial flora after the ammonia is substantially exhausted in the first process, and a third process of supplying hydroxylamine labeled withN to the bacterial flora after the second process.
