PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an austenite stainless steel from nickel laterite ore and chromite ore having cost effect.SOLUTION: The method for producing an austenitic stainless steel from nickel laterite ore and chromite ore comprises: a step of determining the amount of nickel in the nickel laterite ore; a step of treating the nickel laterite ore into a nickel-containing precursor on the basis of the determination; a step of obtaining fused ferrochrome from the chromite ore; a step of introducing the nickel-containing precursor into a converter; a step of hot-charging the fused ferrochrome to the converter to obtain fused stainless steel; and a step of charging the fused stainless steel to a continuous casting machine to obtain a stainless steel slab.
