PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tax/public money receipt system suitable for reducing jobs for a person in charge of a shop even in the case of cash daily closing together with automatic collection of tax/public money.SOLUTION: The tax/public money receipt system comprises a tax/public money receipt machine 1 and a terminal device 2. A main control section 10 of the tax/public money receipt machine 1 identifies an issuing organ of a payment slip 31 from bar code information read by a bar code reader 11, detects a denomination described on the payment slip 31 and determines an amount of payment including an arrearage amount in the case where a deadline of payment of tax/public money passes. When a coin money processing device 22 and a paper money processing device 23 receive the amount of payment put in by a customer, the main control section 10 issues a receipt slip 35 from a printer 24, instructs the terminal device 2 to print a payment application form 32 and stores, in a memory 27, records of the remainder of the received payment amount and a payment procedure for each issuing organ.
