PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized brach/leaf and surface soil recovery machine excellent in workability, by preventing undergrowth, fallen leaves, branches and surface soil from clogging in a suction pipe or the like.SOLUTION: The branch/leaf and surface soil recovery machine 2 sucks and recovers a recovery object while crushing, and comprises a cover 12 for internally forming a cover chamber 21 including an opening part 21a for opening a lower part and a cylindrical surface part 21b having an upper part formed in a semi-cylindrical shape, an intake connection part 13 formed in the upper part of the cover 12, a rotary shaft part 14 extending in the axial direction of the cover chamber 21 and rotatably journaled in the cover chamber 21 and a rotary blade 15 for providing a crushing blade part 25 in a tip part of a root part 24 extending in the radial direction from a peripheral surface of the rotary shaft part 14. The rotary blade 15 is provided, with a slight clearance of a degree of not contacting the outermost rotational locus of the crushing blade part 25 and the cylindrical surface part 21b, and is provided so that the outermost rotational locus of the crushing blade part 25 passes through under the opening part 21a.
