PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to be used in sampling a fingerprint, configured to accurately specify a direction (finger direction) indicated by four fingers in a finger image.;SOLUTION: A finger direction specifying system includes a finger direction arithmetic processing part 10 which specifies a finger direction indicating a direction of fingers included in finger image data on the basis of input finger image data by image processing. The finger direction arithmetic processing part 10 includes: a dynamic binary image generating part 11 which binary-displays finger sections in the finger image data in a dark state, on the basis of any of a plurality of thresholds set in stages, to obtain dark areas; and a finger direction decision part 14 which decides a directional vector to be obtained by vector-synthesizing length directions of the dark areas of the binary-displayed finger images as a finger direction of the finger image.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
