PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a verification apparatus, verification method, and program which verifies, prior to the installation of a three-dimensional laser radar for safely, quickly, and surely detecting an object present in a predetermined area by applying a laser toward the predetermined area in a scanning manner, the installation position of the laser radar. PSOLUTION: The laser radar installation position verification apparatus 100 includes: an imaging section 110 which is arranged at an installation candidate position P of the laser radar and obtains an image which has the same angle of field as that of the laser radar or more and includes a predetermined area AR; a rectangular standard plate 120 which is imaged by the imaging section 110 at a furthest position 50B and a closest position 50T from the installation candidate position P in the predetermined area AR; and a distance calculation section for determining a first distance L1 to the furthest position 50B and a second distance L2 to the closest position 50T from the installation candidate position P on the basis of the obtained image for verification obtained by the imaging section 110 and the shape information of the rectangular standard plate 120.
