PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly perform character segmentation from images of a license plate.;SOLUTION: One or more images of a license plate are acquired. Then, a pixel-level importance is calculated with respect to the images of the license plate on the basis of information within the images, such as gradient information and raw grayscale information.
