PROGRAM EXTENSION SYSTEM, SERVER USED THEREFOR, PROGRAM EXTENSION METHOD AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an information processing terminal to perform extension/switching of a program on the basis of characteristics such as machine type information or a service provision contract style of another information processing terminal.;SOLUTION: A program management section which is operated in a smartphone, transmits information of an in-vehicle unit and a program ID list of the smartphone to a server. On the basis of a function extension condition of a program, a possibility of function extension of the program and whether to provide the program in an onerous manner or in a gratuitous manner are discriminated by the server and transmitted to the smartphone. The program management section of the smartphone next inquires the possibility of extension and a password in the onerous case to a user and when extending the program, authentication information generated from an in-vehicle unit ID, a random number, secret data inherent for an in-vehicle unit 2 and the like and the password (in the onerous case) are transmitted to the server.
