PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element in which shortening of a response time and/or improvement of a display grade are achieved; a liquid crystal aligning agent used in a process for manufacturing the liquid crystal display element; and a liquid crystal alignment film formed by using the liquid crystal aligning agent.;SOLUTION: The liquid crystal alignment film is formed by using the liquid crystal aligning agent containing at least one selected from polyimide obtained by reacting diamine with tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride, polyamic acid which is a precursor thereof and a polyamic acid derivative, and a photopolymerizable monomer and/or a photopolymerizable oligomer, and is used for the liquid crystal display element.
