PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an Si-containing active material layer capable of obtaining a solid-state battery with excellent cyclic characteristics.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an Si-containing active material layer comprises the steps of: preparing a battery member including a precursor layer containing an Si-containing active material and a solid electrolyte material, a counter electrode layer, and a solid electrolyte layer formed between the precursor layer and the counter electrode layer; forming an Si-containing active material layer from the precursor layer by performing charge-discharge processing a plurality of times in a state in which a confining pressure of not less than 150 kgf/cmis applied to the battery member in a lamination direction (charge-discharge processing step).
