PICTURE KEYWORD ALLOCATION DEVICE, PICTURE KEYWORD ALLOCATION METHOD, AND PICTURE KEYWORD ALLOCATION PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allocate a keyword at a time-wise and space-wise appropriate position in a picture.;SOLUTION: A partial area of a representative image to be extracted from each picture is clustered on the basis of a characteristic amount, and importance degree of the clustered area to be defined with consideration to both of (a) importance degree of the clustered area in a picture group and (b) importance degree of the clustered area in a picture with respect to the clustered area is calculated. On the basis of the calculated importance degree, an important area of each representative image is determined to calculate a characteristic amount of the important area, and probability that a keyword is allocated to the important area is defined by use of the characteristic amount of the important area and an unknown parameter. An evaluation function based on the probability, an association degree of the keyword with the picture, and a state of the keyword being given to the picture is optimized to calculate the unknown parameter. Then, probability that the keyword is allocated to the important area is calculated to allocate the keyword to the important area.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
