PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extensible/contractible joint for a ground covering section or a curbstone section having a sufficient strength for supporting pedestrians and capable of ensuring the safety of the pedestrians when it is compressed in the direction of a bridge axis.;SOLUTION: A plurality of grooves 14, 15 having the same shape and extended perpendicularly to the direction of the bridge axis are formed on an upper face 12 and a lower face 13 of a plate-like elastic member 11, at an interval L therebetween by shifting for each other by half a pitch. The number of grooves 14 on the upper face 12 is smaller than that of grooves 15 on the lower face 13. A ratio of width W of the grooves 14, 15 to the interval L (W/L) is 0.2-0.4 and a ratio of depth H of the grooves 14, 15 to thickness S of the elastic member 11 (H/S) is 0.4-0.6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
