PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a nanocarbon film and a nanocarbon film which ensures a high filtration rate and high durability, can be utilized as an ultrafiltration membrane, a nanofiltration membrane or a reverse osmosis membrane, and exhibits high mechanical strength in spite of its ultra-thin thickness.SOLUTION: The method for producing a nanocarbon film includes: a step S1 of forming a sacrificial film comprising nanofibers on a microfiltration membrane by a filtration process; a step S2 where a carbon filled layer in which carbon is filled into the gaps among the nanofibers is formed by a high-frequency plasma process, and then a carbon flat film having a flat surface is formed so as to cover the sacrificial film; and a step S3 where the nanofibers in the carbon filled layer are removed with an acid or alkali solution to form a carbon backing layer having a network cavity, thereby forming a nanocarbon film comprising the carbon flat film and the backing layer and having a film thickness of ≤100 nm.
