PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance type proximity sensor device having high detection sensitivity in both planar and height directions to a sensor part and having low directivity in a detecting direction.;SOLUTION: The capacitance type proximity sensor device comprises electrodes 13a-13d arranged in a reference plane so as to form capacitance between adjacent electrodes; a drive circuit 16 for outputting a drive voltage to be applied to an electrode to be a drive electrode among the electrodes 13a-13d; a detection circuit 17 for detecting a signal outputted from an electrode to be a detection electrode among the electrodes 13a-13d; a multiplexer 14 for connecting any one of the electrodes 13a-13d to be the derive electrode to the drive circuit 15 and any of the electrodes 13a-13d to be the detection electrode to the detection circuit 17; and a CPU 15 for computing the position of a body to be detected in a height direction perpendicular to the reference plane. The position of the body to be detected in triaxial directions is detected by sequentially changing over the drive electrode and the detection electrode among the electrodes 13a-13d by the multiplexer 14.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
