PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which the shape of the edge end face without burrs and angles is made by efficiently crushing the burrs and the angles which are formed on the side end faces of a metallic strip sheared with a slitter without generating bend and buckling on a metallic sheet itself.;SOLUTION: A metallic strip slitted with a slitter is passed through between both grooves of a pair of rolls, consisting of a restraining roll having a large diameter, which is provided with a groove having a wider width than the sheet thickness at a depth at which the sheet width of a length at which buckling is not generated in the sheet thickness direction by load for reduction in the sheet width direction is projected, and a working roll, which is smaller than the roll in the diameter and on which a groove having a wider width than the sheet thickness is provided. Then, the edge parts on both sides of the sheet over the entire area of the longitudinal direction of the metallic strip are reduced in the sheet width direction.
