PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an art facilitating design or manufacture of a dental crown disposed to a defective part of a tooth.SOLUTION: A method for designing a dental crown comprises: changing the posture of one dentition of an upper jaw dentition and a lower jaw dentition in a three-dimensional image (S4); moving the one dentition in a Z-axis direction until coming in contact with the other dentition (S4); storing data on the posture of the one dentition at a position where both of the dentitions come in contact with each other, in a storage means; repeatedly carrying out a posture changing step, a moving step and a storage step while changing the posture of the one dentition into a posture different from the previous one in the posture changing step; obtaining three-dimensional coordinate data at a position in the most vicinity of the other dentition of positions in a Z-axis direction that the three-dimensional data on a plurality of the postures of the one dentition stored in the storage part, in the plurality of positions in an X-Y flat surface after the repeated steps; generating data on an envelope curved surface based on the plurality of three-dimensional data obtained (S4); and deforming the three-dimensional image of a dental crown based on the generated data on the envelope curved surface.
