PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation apparatus for the positioning reliability of a satellite positioning system receiver which improves the accuracy of evaluating the positioning reliability of a receiver of a satellite positioning system.;SOLUTION: The positioning reliability evaluation apparatus for evaluating the positioning reliability of a receiver of a satellite positioning system installed in a mobile unit includes: a first evaluation parameter calculation unit which estimates a positioning error of the receiver on the basis of the output of the receiver and calculates the positioning error as a first evaluation parameter; a second evaluation parameter calculation unit which calculates a second evaluation parameter on the basis of the output of a measure which does not depend on the satellite positioning system; a Mahalanobis distance calculation unit which calculates the Mahalanobis distance of data to be evaluated including at least the first evaluation parameter and the second evaluation parameter with respect to a predetermined data set; and a reliability evaluation unit which evaluates the positioning reliability of the receiver on the basis of the Mahalanobis distance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
