PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation device capable of evaluating the initial state of a contactless IC tag such as an IC card and a product using them before they are mounted on the product, and precisely performing non-destructive performance evaluation after mount comparatively easily and inexpensively, and to provide an evaluation method using the evaluation device.;SOLUTION: A communication range evaluation device includes: a sample placement unit 2 for fixing an object to be measured including a contactless IC tag with the shape thereof reformed to a target shape and constrained; a placement unit 1a of a reader/writer 9 that is in a position facing the object fixed on the sample placement unit 2; a guide for guiding the sample placement unit 2 in such a direction as to advance/retract the sample placement unit 2 with respect to the placement unit 1a of the reader/writer 9; and a measurement unit 7 for measuring the amount of advancing/retracting of the sample placement unit 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
