PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper-sheet separating mechanism that separates a plurality of stacked paper sheets one by one without using an electric apparatus.;SOLUTION: The paper-sheet separating mechanism separates a plurality of stacked paper sheets one by one. The paper-sheet separating mechanism has: a surface of a side plate 2 and a surface of a bottom plate 7 that hold mutually-adjacent two sides of paper sheets; conveying rods 5a, 5b that slide the paper sheets; a posture control part 9a that protrudes from the surface of the side plate 2; and a posture control part 9b that protrudes from the surface of the bottom plate 7.
