PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flying insect pest repellent having high safeness and a high spatial repellency on flying insect pests, and capable of inhibiting flying and blood feeding behavior of the insect pests even in a low concentration.SOLUTION: The flying insect pest repellent contains a polyether compound expressed by chemical formula (I). In the formula, Rand Reach represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; Rrepresents a 1-5C alkylene group which may be branched; and n represents a natural number of 1 to 3.
