PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus for more easily determining an appropriate heart rate time phase and collecting data of a bloodstream image without requiring special knowledge and technique. PSOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes: a data collecting means for setting a delay time DELAY TIME from a reference wave R expressing the time phase of a data collection timing in imaging synchronized with a heartbeat, based on heart rate information HR or pulse wave information which is previously acquired from a subject and performing scanning SEQUENCE accompanied with the set delay time DELAY TIME, thereby collecting magnetic resonance signals; and an image generating means for generating the bloodstream image, based on the magnetic resonance signals.
