PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an optimal non-contact charging according to a situation that only a battery pack is placed or a battery drive apparatus including the battery pack is placed on a charging cradle.SOLUTION: A battery pack 52 itself or attached to a battery drive apparatus 50, is placed on a charging cradle 10 and is capable of being charged contactlessly by electromagnetic coupling with a power transmission coil 11 of the charging cradle 10. The battery pack 52 comprises: a battery cell 58 that is chargeable; a power reception coil 51 that is electromagnetic coupled with the power transmission coil 11 of the charging cradle 10 so as to receive charge power supplied; a pack control circuit controlling charging of the battery cell 58 by electric power received in the power reception coil 51; and identification means identifying whether the battery pack 52 is a single item or attached to the battery drive apparatus 50. Based on an identification result of the identification means, attaching information that indicate whether the battery pack 52 is a single item or attached to the battery drive apparatus 50 is transmitted from the power reception coil 51 to the power transmission coil 11.
