PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a newsprint paper having high bulkiness and printing opacity even at a recycled pulp blending ratio of 100 mass%, exhibiting excellent printability and satisfying tensile strength required in high-speed rotary printing, and a method for producing the paper.;SOLUTION: There is provided the newsprint paper composed of 100 mass% of recycled pulp and having a basis weight of 42-49 g/m², wherein 40-70 mass% of the total component of the recycled pulp develops the color of mechanical pulp determined in conformity to JIS-P-8120, and the paper contains 0.2-0.5 mass% of a resin determined in conformity to ISO 624, and has a tensile strength (machine direction) of 2.1-3.1 kN/m and a printing opacity of 90.0-94.0%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
