Rice blast field resistance gene Pb1 and its utilization

摘要

A rice panicle blast resistance gene Pb1 is isolated and identified successfully for the first time. Pb1 gene is a CC-NBS-LRR-type resistance gene and has a novel sequence. The gene characteristically has an adult-plant resistance, unlike conventional panicle blast resistance genes. It is found that practically highly useful panicle blast resistance can be imparted to a rice plant by modifying the gene in the rice plant.
