PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly change a reduced scale of a display for map data.;SOLUTION: The acquiring part 101 of a map display device 100 acquires map data of a predetermined area. A display part 102 includes: a display screen 102a displaying map data acquired by the acquiring part 101; and a touch panel 102b provided overlapping on the display screen 102a. A detecting part 103 detects object's approach and contact to the display part 102. The acquiring part 101 acquires scaled-down map data different from map data displayed on the display part 102 when object's approach to the display part 102 displaying map data is detected.
