PURPOSE: To make it possible to display maps expressed by a bird's-eye view by executing perspective transformation with a coordinate transformation means disposed at a map plotting means. ;CONSTITUTION: When the display support of the bird's-eye view is inputted via an input device or when an arbitrary point is given as a destination via the input device during displaying a plan view, a coordinate transformation means receiving this instruction via a user operation analyzing means 41 judges the need for perspective transformation in the judgement of the bird's-eye view display and executes perspective transformation processing. Calculation of a projection angle, position calculation of a projection surface and perspective transformation calculation are included in this perspective transformation processing. The map data to be announced to a plotting instruction light emitting means is eventually transformed into the bird's-eye view and the plotting data which is formed by a graphic processing means 49 and stored in a VRAM is also the bird's-eye view.
