PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression method for efficiently compressing video data.;SOLUTION: The video data compression method has the effect in which video compression efficiency can be improved in an environment with background and motion by: generating background model data with respect to video data to be input; determining a moving object region based on the video data; estimating a motion value of the moving object region; and then compressing the image data by referring to the background model data or/and the estimated motion value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
