P To secure electrical connection between a damper bar and a short-circuit rink for keeping the contact resistance low and even when the rotor of a variable speed synchronous machine rotates at a low speed. PSOLUTION: The rotor includes a creepage block 5, disposed ON the outer diameter side of a coil in an axial slot of a shaft and an inner diameter side damper bar 6, an outside diameter side damper bar 7, wedges 8 and 20, and the short-circuit ring 11, electrically connected to each axial end of the inside diameter side damper bar and ouside diameter side damper bar for circumferentially short-circuiting them. The short-circuit ring 11 includes an inside-diameter side short-circuit ring tooth section 13 and an outside-diameter side short-circuit ring tooth section 14. The opposite position between the inside-diameter side damper bar 6 and the inside-diameter side short-circuit ring tooth section and the opposite position between the outside-diameter side damper bar 7 and the ouside-diameter side short-circuit ring tooth section, deviate in the axial direction with each other and a leaf spring 32 is disposed at the axial position covering both the opposite positions.
