The method of detecting an angular position of the estimated () of a rotor (2) of a synchronous machine (1) with respect to a three-phase stator (3) comprises the steps of: - generate a sinusoidal signal having a frequency lower than an electrical frequency of the synchronous machine, - apply the voltage signal of detection at an input d of a transformer of reference (6) of a marker d, q, in a reference frame α, β, - feeding the stator (3) of the synchronous machine according to a voltage signal of detection in the reference frame α, β, - collect the current signals (ia - ci) produced by the stator in a frame of reference a, b, c, and transform them to obtain signals of the current in the reference frame α, β, and, - treat the current signals obtained and the voltage signal of detection by means of an observer (11) configured on the basis of a pattern incorporating the sinusoidal signal detection.
