PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal insulating repair method for an existing wall, and a thermal insulating repair method for an existing building, which enable the thermal insulating repair of the existing wooden building to be inexpensively performed in a short construction period. PSOLUTION: A plurality of horizontal furring strips 10 and 10 are horizontally mounted at predetermined spacings on a wall surface of an indoor-side large wall structure which is constituted in such a manner as to prevent the exposure of a column outside the wall surface by arranging the column in the wall surface. A vacuum heat insulating material 11 is fitted between the furring strips 10 and 10. A wall finishing material 12 is newly attached onto the vacuum heat insulating material 11.
