PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for detecting heating portion abnormality of a vehicle which is mounted on a vehicle such as railway rolling stock traveling on a track, and accurately detects the occurrence of abnormality at a portion generating heat during traveling time or the like of the vehicle without being affected by traveling condition of the vehicle and weather condition. PSOLUTION: Surface temperature values of axle boxes determined to be mutually under the same condition are selected from measured surface temperature values of the axle boxes, and the surface temperature values having the same temperature tendency are further selected from all the selected surface temperature values. A median of all the selected surface temperature values is calculated (a train reference value). Each difference between all the selected surface temperature values and the train reference value is calculated (a measured temperature difference). A median of all the measured temperature differences is calculated (reference correction value). The train reference value and the reference correction value are added (estimated temperature value). All the measured surface temperature values and the estimated temperature value are successively compared with each other.
