Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a resin original plate for letterpress, in which the following steps (1) and (2) are repeatedly carried out, whereby a three-dimensional separation surface or a three-dimensional modified surface and/or a partial separation surface is formed in the interior of the resin original plate, and a resin plate for letterpress having a desired printing pattern can be manufactured. Step (1):  a step for focusing laser light at the interior of a resin original plate for letterpress and controlling the focal position. Step (2):  a step for irradiating laser light onto the focal position.
