PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a urethane resin for a damping material, which is good in adhesivity, has a large loss factor (tanδ) and is excellent in damping property, has well-balanced elastic modulus and loss factor, and is good in elongation.SOLUTION: The method for producing a urethane resin for a damping material includes moisture-curing an isocyanate group-terminated prepolymer obtained by reacting a polyol (A) and a polyisocyanate compound (B), wherein the polyol (A) contains a polyester ether polyol (A1) obtained by copolymerizing a polycarboxylic anhydride (b) and an alkylene oxide (c) with an initiator (a) in the presence of a catalyst (x).
