Provided is a maintenance method wherein an operation process which has conventionally required four rack rails, four maintenance elevators, and four operators, can be performed by one rack rail, one elevator installed on the rack rail, and fewer operators. The outer peripheral surface has no gripping portions. Rack rail installation plates each having a predetermined length and both ends to which strong magnets are secured, are secured to the rack rail segment at upper and lower positions spaced at a predetermined interval, on the outer peripheral surface of the wind power generation tower, so that the rack rail segment having a predetermined length is vertically installed. A maintenance elevator integrally provided with a drive device for lifting and lowering is installed. Operators stand on the maintenance elevator, and successively secure the rack rail installation plates to rack rail segments to extend a rack rail upward. The rack rail segments are successively connected until the rack rail reaches the top end of the wind power generation tower. A workbench for inspecting blades is coupled to the drive device of the maintenance elevator.
