PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved phosphor particulate powder in which water resistance is excellent and reduction of an initial emission luminance is suppressed, a method for surface treatment for obtaining the improved phosphor particulate powder and an EL element using the powder.;SOLUTION: In the improved phosphor particulate powder, a coating film composed of at least one kind selected from compounds containing silicon, aluminum, titanium or zirconium is uniformly coated on a surface of a phosphor particulate, and the initial emission luminance is 85% or more relative to that before the coating treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
