PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a film having a surface with low electric resistance and being excellent in undercoat performance and bare corrosion resistance and to provide a magnesium-lithium alloy prepared by the method.;SOLUTION: The method for treating the surface of magnesium-lithium alloy includes a step of treating the surface of a magnesium lithium alloy material with a treatment solution in low-electric-resistance of an inorganic acid containing metal ions in an amount of 0.021-0.47 g/l in terms of aluminum and 0.0004-0.029 g/l in terms of zinc. The method for treating the surface of the magnesium-lithium alloy further includes a film chemical conversion treatment step of immersing the alloy after being subjected to surface control in a 3.33-40 g/l aqueous ammonium hydrogen fluoride solution.
