PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of the spreading work of an upholstery in a chair without applying any complicated work and to uniformly hold the tension of the upholstery over the entire frame body. PSOLUTION: A frame body 29 in the chair 1 is formed of an resilient main frame 30 in which a part of the peripheral edge is cut off so as to have a desired interval in an initial state, and a connection frame 35 provided with a fitting part 36 having the almost same dimensions as those of an interval between the opposing end parts 34a of a cut-off part 34 in the initial state of the main frame. While deforming the main frame in such a reducing direction that the opposing end parts of the cut-off part can get closer against the resilient force, the peripheral edge part of the upholstery 27 is attached to the peripheral edge of the main frame, then the main frame is expanded into the initial state by resilient restoration force, the fitting part of the connection frame is fitted between the opposing end parts of the cut-off part, and thus the opposing end parts of the cut-off part are connected to each other.
