PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control tool which increases a backup force generated against an inner peripheral face of a thin wall cylindrical workpiece, and prevents the vibration control tools overlapping one another, and also to provide a lath cutting method for a thin wall cylindrical workpiece in which the vibration control tools is inserted. PSOLUTION: When lath cutting an outer peripheral face of the thin wall cylindrical workpiece rotatably supported, the vibration control tool 1 extending in an axial direction of the thin wall cylindrical workpiece is inserted in the thin wall cylindrical workpiece. The vibration control tool 1 is pressed against the inner peripheral face of the thin wall cylindrical workpiece as the thin wall cylindrical workpiece is rotated, so that chattering vibration of the thin wall cylindrical workpiece in suppressed.
