The present invention relates to a fuel assembly 10 for a fast-neutron nuclear reactor or fast breeder reactor (FBR), in particular for an FBR cooled by a liquid metal such as sodium. The assembly 10 according to the invention comprises a tube 2 having a polygonal cross section that includes a bundle of needles enclosing a fissile and/or fertile material and a plurality of six protrusions 7, each of the protrusions 7 being located on one of the external faces of the tube 2.
