PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide calcium carbonate particles having a hollow structure, and to provide a synthetic method for the particles which is improved in productivity and the yield of the calcium carbonate particles and uses synthetic operation conditions being simple and friendly to the environment. PSOLUTION: The calcium carbonate particles having a hollow structure are synthesized under a carbonate ionic non-equilibrium condition which is formed by introducing a carbon dioxide gas into an aqueous solution of a calcium salt such as calcium chloride at a relatively high flow rate.
