PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll coater in which time for switching coating chemicals is greatly reduced compared with the conventional apparatus, in the roll coater used for continuous coating of a strip-shaped long object such as a steel belt.;SOLUTION: The roll coater includes: a circulation tank 6 for storing a chemical 18; a chemical tank 4 for storing the chemical supplied from the circulation tank; a chemical supply route for feeding the chemical in the circulation tank to the chemical tank; a chemical collection route for collecting the chemical overflowed from the chemical tank into the circulation tank; and a coating roll 1 for applying the chemical in the chemical tank to a conveyed strip-shaped coating object 17.
