PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing plate mounting device which prevents a printing plate from sagging during printing, as well as a method for mounting the printing plate.;SOLUTION: The printing plate mounting device 1 includes a plate cylinder 11 which is fixed on the outer circumference of a plate driving shaft 31, and includes a cylindrical plate mounting surface 12 on which a printing plate 2 is mounted from the tip side of the plate driving shaft 31. In addition, on the outer circumference of the plate cylinder 11, a groove 122 for positioning the printing plate 2 in the circumferential direction into which an engagement part 23 of the printing plate 2 is to be fitted from the tip side of the plate driving shaft 31, and a plate fixing member 121 formed movably to the radially outside and the radially inside of the plate cylinder 11, are arranged. At least one plate fixing member 121 is arranged on the side opposite to the groove 122 for positioning the printing plate 2 in the circumferential direction on the outer circumference of the plate cylinder 11. In using the plate fixing member 121, a part of the printing plate 2 mounted on the plate cylinder 11 is moved to the radially outside from the radially inside of the plate cylinder 11, and thus the one part of the printing plate 2 fitted to the plate cylinder 11, is pressed.
