PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image retrieval device allowing high-accuracy image retrieval by only input of a keyword.;SOLUTION: The image retrieval device includes: a Web image input part 10 retrieving an image inside an HTML by designating the keyword, calculating a relevance degree with the keyword based on text analysis, and inputting a plurality of retrieval images imparted with order by the relevance degree; a characteristic amount conversion part 1 measuring an image signal value from the retrieval image and outputting it as an image characteristic amount; an accumulation part 3 temporarily storing the image characteristic amount output in the characteristic amount conversion part; a search control part 4 deciding the retrieval images each having the large relevance degree corresponding to a reliable number from the topmost rank as adaptive images, and newly searching for an adaptive image based on a threshold value about the retrieval images each having a small difference degree with the image characteristic amounts of the adaptive images from the retrieval images except the adaptive images; and a difference degree measurement part 5 reading the image characteristic amount of each retrieval image from the accumulation part 3, and measuring the difference degree of the image characteristic amount of the adaptive image to the image characteristic amount of each retrieval image.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
