PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide shot peening powder for simultaneously providing slidableness and surface compression residual stress, and a manufacturing method of a sliding member made by shot-peening using the powder.;SOLUTION: The shot peening powder comprises a soft metal phase with a Vickers hardness of HV100 or less and one or more kinds of hard phases with a hardness exceeding HV100 and can simultaneously provide slidableness and surface compression residual stress. The soft metal phase includes one or more kinds of Sn, Zr and In and unavoidable impurities.
